Alien Fauna

Docile

Sklivv : Agile six-legged herbivores the size of a large horse or small deer (shoulder height ~1.2–1.5 m). Silvery-gray fur with iridescent small membrane wings on its back to glide after jumping plus membranes between front & middle legs for mid-air steering. Graceful leapers & gliders that move between spires & crystal ledges. Graze on tough succulents & vines. Prized by Orunethi for sinew (strong ropes) & soft hides (clothing). Timid & fast, but easy targets for Vraskh on exposed ledges.

Cragbur : Large, heavily armored herbivore the size of a big boar or small bear (body length ~1.2–1.5 m). Covered in thick rock-like plates with mossy growths for near-perfect camouflage. Powerful digging claws and blunt snout let it burrow into soft rock faces. Emerges during stable pressure to feed on mineral-rich moss and crystal-adjacent plants. Provides dense, nutritious meat and hard shell fragments used as tools or ornaments. When threatened, it rolls into a tight armored ball that looks like a boulder.

Vraskh (Stone Shadow Hunter / Cliff Stalker)A lean, powerful quadrupedal predator built like a nightmare version of a big cat crossed with a crocodile. Shoulder height ~1.8–2.1 m (when standing on all fours), total length 3.5–4 m including the long whip-like tail. This makes an adult Vraskh roughly the size of a very large grizzly bear or small elephant in mass— heavy enough to be genuinely threatening even to a full-grown male Orunethi. Its body is covered in dark charcoal-gray to near-black scales patterned like cracked stone, providing near-perfect camouflage against Veyra’s cliffs and fractured plains.Features :
Long whip-like tail for balance & striking, flexible backward-curving spines along the spine & shoulders (used for threat displays & wedging into crevices), narrow wedge-shaped head with serrated teeth, and reflective white eyes with vertical slit pupils optimized for twilight hunting.
Adaptations :
Exceptional climbing ability on sheer rock faces, vibration & pressure sensing through its scales, and the ability to remain motionless for long periods before explosive attacks.
Behavior & Ecology :
Usually in small packs. Most active during low-pressure periods/when Syl’Kael races across the sky. Specializes in raiding nesting crevices for eggs and hatchlings— the main reason Orunethi males stand vigilant guard on exposed ledges. They rarely challenge healthy adult Male Orunethi directly but become far more dangerous in big packs. Is dangerous & Hostile to humans as they're smaller than Orunethi.
Colony Warning Cry :“Vraskh! Vraskh!”— a short, sharp bark that carries across the cliffs when scouts spot one or a pack approaching the nesting levels.

Syl’Tharok (Sky Tyrant)Apex Predator of Veyra. Syl’Tharok is Veyra’s undisputed apex predator— a colossal flying reptilian like behemoth with a wingspan of 8–10 meters. Its body is covered in dark, obsidian-gray scales that crackle with vivid purple lightning-like veins when it flies through magnetic storms or high-pressure currents. These glowing purple energy patterns run along its wings, spine, and head, making it look like living storm incarnate against the twilight sky.Features :Massive membranous wings with prominent purple lightning veins that pulse and flare during flight. Sleek, draconic like body with sharp spines along the back and head, glowing purple accents on the crests and antennae-like feelers.
Powerful clawed limbs and a long, muscular tail ending in a fin-like structure. Fierce head with 2 pairs of glowing purple eyes (one pair is smaller located above the normal pair), sharp teeth, and a beak-like snout. The entire creature radiates raw power and otherworldly menace, especially when silhouetted against the large moon and stormy clouds.
Behavior & Ecology :Syl’Tharok soar at high altitudes, riding violent pressure currents and magnetic storms caused by Kael’Veyr. They dive silently from the clouds to snatch large prey — including Sklivv herds, lone Cragbur, or even unwary Orunethi on exposed high ledges. They are most active during Convergence or intense magnetic storms, when their purple veins glow brightest.Orunethi consider them “the Moon’s Talon”— a near-mythical terror that only the most skilled and attuned warriors dare challenge. A single Syl’Tharok can devastate a nesting level in one pass. They rarely come low enough to threaten the base directly, but their distant silhouettes against the twin moons are a constant reminder that the skies of Veyra belong to them.

Xal’gorr (Depths Breaker)Veyra’s most terrifying terrestrial apex predator— a colossal burrowing serpent-like behemoth measuring 12–15 meters long and as thick as a small tree trunk at its widest point. It has no eyes. Instead, its head features a massive, star-shaped, flower-like maw with multiple layers of jagged, serrated teeth arranged in a radial pattern. The mouth can open extremely wide, revealing a dark, circular throat lined with smaller inward-pointing teeth. Glowing teal/cyan bioluminescent patterns cover the head and upper body, pulsing like living marks. These markings are especially bright when it emerges from the ground or during tidal stress. Its massive, segmented body is covered in thick, rocky plates that resemble cracked stone and earth, giving it near-perfect camouflage when partially buried. The plates are interwoven with glowing teal vein-like patterns that run along the length of its body. The underside & segments have a slightly smoother, more flexible texture.Behavior & Ecology :The Xal’gorr senses seismic vibrations & tidal stresses through its body plates. It lurks beneath the cracked plains bases, then erupts violently upward with explosive force, collapsing sections of rock & swallowing anything in its path. Requires loose fractured terrain (can’t breach solid cliffs). Its star-shaped maw is designed for crushing & engulfing large prey whole— including Sklivv, Cragbur, other ground fauna, and occasionally unwary Orunethi. The Orunethi greatly fear it, especially during Convergence when ground tremors are strongest. They call it “The Depths Breaker” and consider surviving an encounter (or driving one away) a legendary feat of strength and attunement. Luckily it's habitat is located far from our base Captain.

Alien Fauna

Companionable

• Ionix (Little Hunter Companion)Ferret-sized (about 40–70 cm long), six legged with talons, sleek scaled creature with smooth dark-blue to greenish blue scales that shimmer with faint iridescent highlights, has small insect like wings (useless of flight, evolution remnants). Long, thin sensory filaments (some glowing faintly when the creature is alert or hunting), These help it detect tiny air-pressure changes, vibrations, & the movement of insects in the dark. It has bright, curious slitted eyes & a long, flexible body built for darting through crevices. When excited/ hunting, sparks of blue-purple crackle around its mouth & throat— a natural bioluminescent display used to stun small insects.Behavior & Ecology :They are playful, energetic, & highly intelligent. They bond strongly with one person, often riding on tails, braids,/shoulders during climbs. Orunethi tame them easily with small offerings of insects. They help flush prey from tight fissures, alert to nearby Vraskh with rapid sparkling flashes, & make soft chittering sounds when content. Many high-ledge dwellers keep one as a loyal hunting partner & affectionate companion— it will curl up against warm scales or even try to “help” groom hair with its small claws. Excellent for scouting narrow cracks where larger hands can’t reach. Their sparks are especially bright during magnetic storms, making them useful living lights in dark caves.
